PicamiParis first

Someone to take your photo.
Right now, nearby.

Picami finds someone close by who is also available, sends you both to the same public spot, and you take photos of each other. No tripod. No stranger you have to ask. No favour owed.

Free while we’re opening. Paris now, more cities as people join.

Paris — the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre pyramid, Sacré-Cœur, the Tuileries and the Palais Royal
15, 30 or 60 minutes

You are somewhere worth remembering, holding your phone at arm’s length, deciding whether to ask a stranger.

Everyone has done it. The photo is fine. It is never the one you wanted. Meanwhile someone two streets away is out with their camera and would happily take it properly — and would like the same favour back.

Four steps, then you’re out in the world

  1. 01

    Say when you're free

Fifteen minutes on a Thursday. A slow Sunday morning. Whatever you actually have.

  2. 02

    See who else is

People nearby with an overlapping window. Distance, not a feed.

  3. 03

Meet at a spot we suggest

A park, a square, somewhere public and busy. Halfway between you.

  4. 04

    Shoot, swap, go

You photograph them, they photograph you. On your own phones. Then you get on with your day.

You are meeting a stranger. We built for that, not around it.

None of this is a promise. Each one is something the app will not let happen.

Every account is a verified phone number

One account per number. Delete the account and the number remembers the free session it already used, so nobody gets a second one by starting again.

Nobody gets your address

You pick a neighbourhood, not a location. We never store where you live, and there is no map pin on your home.

Public meeting points only

You cannot invite someone to your flat, because the app will not offer it. Meeting spots are reviewed by a person before anyone can be sent to one.

Chat ends when the session does

Messages exist for one booking and no longer. There is no inbox, no way to keep messaging somebody, and no phone numbers exchanged.

You can report anyone from any session, and a report is recorded against that account permanently. We are a small team: there is no safety desk staffed around the clock, and we are not going to claim there is. If something goes wrong in the moment, you need the police, not us — in France that is 17, or 112 anywhere in Europe.

What Picami is not

  • Dating. It is not that, and accounts using it that way are removed.
  • Hiring a photographer. Nobody is paid, by you or by us.
  • Uploading the photos you take. They never touch our servers — they stay on your phone, and they are yours.

Open now in Paris.

The honest constraint: this only works if someone else nearby is free at the same time as you. So the more people in Paris who have it, the better it gets. Download it, say when you’re free, and bring a friend.
